OpenAI added a useful option for Codex users: usage-limit resets. If your account has one, a Full reset can restore your 5-hour limit, weekly limit, or both to 100% so you can keep working with Astra 6.
One correction before we start: this is not a bag of free API tokens. It resets the usage limits attached to your ChatGPT account. OpenAI added reset banking for Plus and Pro users in June 2026, including one free reset at launch. Availability and the number of resets can vary by account.
The fastest way to find it
Open ChatGPT Usage settings in a browser and sign in with the same account you use for Codex.
If the direct link does not open the Usage page, follow the steps below.
On iPhone: use Safari
Open Safari and go to chatgpt.com. Sign in to your account.
Tap your profile in the lower-left corner, then tap Settings.

Search for Usage, or move across the Settings tabs until you see it. Tap Usage.
Look for Usage limit resets. Each available Full reset shows its expiration date.

Tap Use reset beside the reset you want to use.
Read the confirmation. It says your usage limits will return to 100% and that the reset can only be used once. Tap Use reset again when you are ready.

I tried this inside the ChatGPT app on my iPhone, but the Usage page did not appear there. Opening ChatGPT in Safari gave me the full Settings page and the reset controls shown in these screenshots. That is my tested workaround if the native mobile app does not show the option on your device.
On desktop
Open the Codex desktop app and go to Settings → Usage.
Or open chatgpt.com/#settings/Usage in Chrome, Safari, or another desktop browser.
Under Usage limit resets, choose an available Full reset and confirm it.
The browser link is the easiest fallback because it opens the correct settings section after you sign in.
Check these details before using one
It is account-specific. You may see one reset, several resets, or none.
It expires. Check the date shown beside each reset.
It is single-use. Save it for a time when you need to restore a depleted limit.
It is separate from paid credits. The Credits section appears below the reset bank.
It is broader than one model. The Usage page says plan limits are shared across Codex, Work, Workspace Agents, and ChatGPT for Excel. Normal ChatGPT conversations are not included.
Useful links
OpenAI described reset banking as a promotion when it launched, so the offer, eligibility, and referral options may change. Check your own Usage page before promising a reset to someone else.
